The Mercedes Marathon & Half Marathon coming up for another year February 2012 has over 9000 runners attend and also is recognized for raising money for many local charities. This event includes a tech shirt and a finishers cap at the finish line, in addition to the large finisher medal that resembles a large heavy hood ornament. The full marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier.
The Half Marathon course in Birmingham, Alabama has some flat stretches, as well as some rollers, passes through the Universtiy of Alabama Birmingham Campus, finishing downtown Birmingham, Alabama for the finish at the Birmingham Museum of Art.
Official Fifty States HALF Marathon Club member are eligible for a discount to this event.
